First of all, I kinda agree with you, my web site is not great but it is just what it’s intended to be !
Now, here is something that people often forget, HTML5 is not CSS3 or Js for that matters. You could (but not ought to) code an HTML5 website using CSS2.1. HTML5 is a new way to organize the architecture of your website and to help explorers understand its content.
Nice, shiny, great designed website should be found in a “CSS3 best website” list
But it is true that people expect shiny stuff when they see an HTML5 list !
A last thing : @ALba, which explorer do you use ?

Yes, you are right, maybe I was expecting some incredible efx when I read the post title.
Honestly I don’t use IE that much. I prefer Firefox, Chrome and K-Meleon.
By the way, yours wasn’t bad. Just simple, it does what it should. The dislike some others, like the 2 I mention..

I wish more people would realize that HTML5 is less about fancy effects and more about movement of a standard, but unfortunately, it’s the effects that get all the press. In any case, these are beautiful examples. The templates I design are not quite as beautiful, but they are primarily intended to help as a starting point, or for learning purposes. If I had more time, I’d try to make them all as gorgeous as these are.
